THE BEGINNING

The adventure started in 2011 when we stumbled across an incredible property that had previously been farmed for hazelnuts, cherries, walnuts, and prunes. Our family was visiting the Willamette Valley in search of the perfect terroir for Pinot Noir when our route serendipitously took us up Worden Hill. There, we discovered a "For Sale" sign that had somehow evaded our long-running search. We immediately sold our home in North Vancouver, BC, to move to Oregon and pursue our passion for viticulture and farming.

We fell in love with our new "home sweet home," a 10-acre farm perched in the Dundee Hills overlooking the Willamette Valley. The land had already been cleared of the hazelnut orchard and was ready to be planted. For Ryan, an Oregonian, this was the long-awaited opportunity to return to his roots and establish a premier site in the Dundee Hills AVA.

For years, we maintained our careers in the IT industry to fund the investment in the land. In 2017, Sofia decided to leave the tech world to focus 100% on our family wine business. We are excited, yet humbled, to be in the Dundee Hills—the "Mecca" of Pinot Noir—living just steps away from pioneers like Jim Maresh and Vivian Weber, and right next door to Dick Erath.

In April 2012, we planted our first vines. Today, we have a total of seven acres under vine, consisting of just over six acres of Pinot Noir and nearly an acre of Chardonnay.

Our vineyard is our home, and we farm without the use of pesticides or herbicides. Instead, we leverage ancient practices to avoid contaminating the soil and protect our environment, our farm workers, our guests, and their children. This commitment to the land also keeps things safe for our beautiful dog, Lava, and our three cats: Lovely, Rae, and Marshmallow.

THE NEXT GENERATION

We have discovered that tending to vines bears striking resemblances to nurturing our two boys. Both demand abundant care and attention - shower them with love and devote quality time to provide the very best!
